Briefly: The story of Hanyu whisky!
Founded in the 1940s by the Hito family, a renowned sake brewing family that has run the family sake business, Toa Shuzo, for generations, Hanyu Distillery was initially a small-scale operation, primarily producing Japanese shochu and simple grain whisky. In the 1980s, coinciding with a boom in the Japanese whisky industry, Hanyu Distillery introduced copper pot stills, venturing into the single malt whisky market.
