Queen of Clubs (Hanyu Playing Cards Series): The most sought-after single bottle in circulation

The Hanyu Playing Cards series comprises 54 unique single casks, each corresponding to one of the 54 playing cards. Compleating the entire set is exceptionally difficult. Among the four Queens, the Queen of Clubs is recognized by collectors as a "niche but fiercely loyal" card. This is because collectors often prefer to acquire all four Queens at once, and single bottles are rarely split and sold individually. Consequently, the actual number of Queen of Clubs bottles circulating in the market is even smaller. For sellers holding this card, this structure—where "many people want to buy the whole set, but few are willing to sell single bottles"—is precisely what underpins its valuation.

Hanyu Queen of Clubs Brand Background and Buyer Concerns

The Hanyu Distillery ceased production and closed in 2000. The last batch of original whisky before its closure was taken over and preserved by Ichiro Akuto, founder of the Chichibu Distillery. These were then bottled individually as single casks and released progressively between 2005 and 2014, ultimately forming this legendary, playing-card-themed collection. Each card corresponds to a unique single cask number, specifying the distillation and bottling years, as well as the cask strength. There is no second cask of completely identical liquid in the world—this is the fundamental source of the entire series' scarcity.

Key Identification Points Affecting the Buyback Price of the Queen of Clubs

The label of the Queen of Clubs features a profile portrait of the queen framed by clover leaves. When authenticating, pay special attention to the multi-color printing layers of the crown's jewels; counterfeits often print the jewels as a single block of color, which is one of the quickest identification clues.
