Karuizawa Noh 13 Years: The first edition of the 13-year Noh series, with a lower overall bottling quantity than the 12-year edition
The 13-year Noh series is in the mid-price range. Collectors often start with this to complete their collection.
Karuizawa Brand and Market Background
Karuizawa Distillery ceased production in 2000, and the distillery was demolished in 2011. All remaining stock entered a "discontinued countdown" state – every bottle sold permanently reduces the global total.
Karuizawa is currently one of the highest-selling single-bottle brands in the global whisky auction market. Some rare single casks have exceeded HKD seven figures at Bonhams and Sotheby's.
Single cask bottling means that each bottle of liquid comes from the same oak cask. The bottle typically indicates the cask number, distillation year, bottling year, and yield. The scarcity of single casks lies in the fact that once the cask is sold out, the exact same liquid no longer exists.
The market pricing logic for limited editions differs from regular editions: in addition to the quality of the liquid, packaging design, release quantity, and commemorative significance are all factored into the valuation. The completeness of accessories (original box, certificate, numbered card, etc.) has a particularly significant impact on the final transaction price.

Noh 13 Years Authentication Focus
The hairline of the samurai mask on the 13-year Noh is a verification point; pay attention to the completeness of the gold outline.
Common authentication process: Fill level (neck position is ideal), cork or screw cap health, label print layers, bottle serial number engraving, completeness of original wooden box and certificate. If one of these is missing, the estimated value will be discounted accordingly, but it can still be accepted.
Market Depth of the Noh Series
The Karuizawa Noh series covers multiple vintages, from 12 to 23 years. Each bottle is independently bottled as a single cask, with the main visual consistently featuring the art of Noh theatre.
The Noh series has long been favored by oriental art collectors in Asian auction houses. The dual attributes of art and whisky ensure a steady upward trend in transaction prices.
