Yoichi buyback

Yoichi is Nikka's starting point, and the Hokkaido distillery personally chosen by Masataka Taketsuru. The direct coal-fired distillation brings a rich smokiness, caramel, and salty sea breeze, giving Yoichi a strong distinctiveness among Japanese whiskies.

After Nikka discontinued several vintage editions in 2015, old versions of Yoichi 10 Year, 12 Year, 15 Year, and 20 Year have become increasingly rare. Prices for old versions with round-shouldered bottles, single casks, distillery exclusives, and Apple Brandy Wood Finish will be assessed individually based on the specific version and condition.

Should Yoichi and Miyagikyo be appraised together?

If you also have Miyagikyo or Taketsuru, it's recommended to send photos of them together. Yoichi is robust, Miyagikyo is mellow, and Taketsuru connects the two distilleries, making the entire collection of Nikka more complete for buyers, and pricing closer to the market value.

What conditions affect the buyback price?

For old versions of Yoichi, particular attention should be paid to the fill level, label oxidation, seal, and box condition. For single casks or limited editions, please clearly photograph the cask number, bottle number, and alcohol percentage. Estimates can still be provided without the box, but the price will differ from complete packaging.

Old versions of Yoichi, single casks, and distillery exclusives can be quoted separately; if you have other Japanese whiskies, comprehensive photos will speed up the process. Collections with smoky or clean profiles can also be compared with Hakushu and recently popular buyback trends to provide a realistic range based on the current market.
