Although Chichibu, officially launched in 2008, is young in age, it has already become one of the most active names in the Japanese whisky collector's market. Ichiro Akuto meticulously plays with small batches, cask numbers, limited labels, and different maturation casks, making every bottle of Chichibu unique and requiring individual attention.

Chichibu valuations cannot solely rely on "how old" it is. Floor Malted, On The Way, IPA Cask, Madeira Hogshead, London Edition, Paris Edition, single cask bottlings, festival labels, and paper labels all have different buyer groups. The fewer the bottles and the clearer the theme, the more sensitive the price usually is.

What is the relationship between Chichibu and Hanyu?

Chichibu was founded by Ichiro Akuto, who also inherited the legendary story of Hanyu. Many collectors pursue Chichibu, Hanyu, and Karuizawa simultaneously, so we consider these rare Japanese whisky lines together when making valuations.

Which parts should be photographed when sending images?

Please photograph the front label, back label, cask number, bottle number, alcohol percentage, box front, and fill level. Chichibu has many subtle variations, and overlooking any vintage or cask number could affect the quote.

Due to the subtle variations of Chichibu, it is not recommended to judge solely on "whether it has appreciated in value." After clearly photographing the cask number, bottle number, and label, we will individually assess market demand for each bottle. If the same batch also includes Yamazaki, Hibiki, or other currently popular Japanese whiskies, we can provide separate valuations and then decide whether to process the entire batch.
