Macallan Brand and Market Background
Macallan uses the smallest copper pot stills in Scotland, maximizing the contact area between the spirit and the copper, producing a rich and concentrated new make spirit.
The auction prices for single bottles of Macallan aged 60 and 50 years have repeatedly set world records. Even for regular vintages like 18 and 25 years, discontinued versions (such as the Purple Diamond and Gold Diamond editions) continue to see rising prices on the secondary market.
During the maturation of high-aged whiskies (2022 and older), approximately 2-4% of the spirit evaporates each year due to the "Angel's Share," meaning that only a fraction of the original volume is eventually bottled—the longer the aging period, the greater the loss and the higher the rarity.

M Decanter 2022 Authentication Key Points
The Lalique crystal decanter has a unique engraved serial number on the base; a Lalique certificate is included in the wooden box.
Common authentication process: fill level (neck position is ideal), health of cork or screw cap, label print quality, engraved bottle number, completeness of original wooden box and certificate. If any of these are missing, the valuation will be discounted accordingly, but it can still be accepted.
Macallan's Market Segmentation Logic
The Macallan's secondary market depth far exceeds most Scotch single malts, with each product line (Sherry Oak, Fine Oak, Anniversary Malt, M Decanter, IB Independent Bottling, etc.) having independent transaction ranges.
Macallan whiskies of the same age statement but with different cask types/bottle designs/bottling batches can have market prices that differ by several times.
