Regarding Chichibu whisky
In recent years, Japanese whisky has become increasingly rare. Following the internationally renowned Yamazaki, Hibiki, and Taketsuru, the rising star of Japanese whisky is Chichibu whisky from Saitama Prefecture. In August 2015, at the Bonhams whisky auction in Hong Kong, it sold for HK$3,797,500 (approximately NT$14,620,375), breaking the then-record for the highest auction price of Japanese whisky. This was achieved by the now-closed Hanyu distillery's Parker brand series! For a long time, discussions of Chichibu have inevitably linked it to Hanyu. The two distilleries appear together because of their grandfather-grandson relationship: the now-closed Hanyu is the grandfather, while Chichibu is not only the grandson but also the inheritor of a dream and the family's legacy.
