Macallan Brand and Market Background
Macallan uses Scotland's smallest copper pot stills, maximizing the contact area between the spirit and the copper to produce new make spirit with rich, concentrated flavors.
Single bottle auction prices for older Macallan vintages, such as the 60-year-old and 50-year-old, have repeatedly set world records. Even for regular vintages like the 18-year-old and 25-year-old, discontinued versions (such as the Purple Diamond and Gold Diamond editions) continue to see rising prices in the secondary market.
During the maturation of high-aged whiskies (25 years and older), approximately 2-4% of the spirit evaporates each year due to the "Angel's Share." This means that the final liquid bottled is only a fraction of what was initially put into the cask – the older the vintage, the greater the loss and the higher the rarity.

Key Authentication Points for the Belted Edition
The gold decorative belt in the middle of the bottle is the primary visual identifier, with the authentic belt printing featuring a three-dimensional embossed texture.
General authentication process: Fill level (neck level is ideal), health of cork or screw cap, layering of label printing, bottle serial number engraving, completeness of original wooden box and certificate. If any of these are missing, the valuation will be adjusted accordingly, but it can still be accepted.

Macallan's market segmentation is very granular: vintage, cask type, bottle design (round bottle/square bottle/belted/elegant bottle), and bottling batch all directly affect valuation. This is the biggest difference between Macallan and other Scotch single malts.
