When acquiring Yamazaki, we first look at the edition: 12-year, 18-year, and 25-year are the most common mainstays; limited bottlings such as Sherry Cask, Mizunara, Puncheon, Bourbon Barrel, Owner's Cask, and 1984 require individual assessment of vintage, cask type, bottle number, packaging, and recent transaction prices.

What's the difference between old and new editions of Yamazaki?

Old editions with yellow labels, red labels, early outer boxes, different vintage seals, and back labels all influence buyer offers. Even for the same Yamazaki 18-year, the condition of the box, fill level, and label preservation will result in different quotations. If you also hold Hibiki or Hakushu, a Suntory set is usually easier to match with a buyer than individual bottles.

What should photos for Yamazaki valuation include?

Please take photos of the front, back label, bottle neck seal, box top, box bottom, and fill level. For Sherry Cask, Mizunara, single cask, or special vintage editions, it's best to also include photos of the bottle number and certificate. The more complete the information, the closer the quote will be to the actual transaction price.
