What's the difference between The Dalmore and Macallan?

Macallan is known for its sherry casks and high auction prices, while The Dalmore has a stronger brand identity and a sense of luxury gift packaging for its older vintages. There is overlap between buyers of both, but the valuation logic differs; if you also have Balvenie or other old Scotch whiskies, we can compare them as a whole batch.

What details should be checked for valuation?

For high-end Dalmore editions, the outer box, inner lining, certificate, and the condition of the metal stag's head on the bottle are very important. For Constellation or single cask editions, please take clear photos of the bottle number, vintage, ABV, and all accessories.

Dalmore standard editions and collector's editions should be evaluated separately.
